Plans...
I know You have plans for me, Lord.
I know those plans are to prosper me. I know they're not harm me.
I know there's a future and a hope in those plans, too.
Sometimes it's hard to trust in that, Lord.
Sometimes I forget that You hold the plans for my life.
Sometimes I think that I can pencil everything in to those neat little squares in my calendar, and it'll all work out.
Sometimes I've not a clue what I'm doing.
Sometimes I'm thankful that You're the Alpha and the Omega... Ok, well, all the times, I'm thankful for that.
All the time, I'm thankful that You're All Knowing and Almighty.
Be near, Lord. Be near me.
Show me the way.
I'll put the pencil down now.
My life is Yours to plan.
Amen.
For I know the plans you have for me, says the Lord, plans to prosper me and not to harm me; plans for a future and hope.

I always have to remind myself of this. It's so true.

those little squares on the celndar do lend a certain sense of false power, don't they? kind of stuck there right now... thank you for this beautiful prayer!
and always use pencil =)
I totally get your heart, and I also take comfort in knowing that God does know what's in store for me as well. However, whenever I see that verse quoted, I cringe just a little because within the context of where its presented in the bible, its not a promise to everyone as individuals, just a specific audience.
Sorry to be a 'Debbie Downer', but since hubs graduated from Seminary I've become more in tune with my own study and application of scriptures as well...
Here's a link to great article if you want to see a bit more about where I'm coming from...

I think Romans has a good compromise though that can be applied to your status
Romans 8:28
And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.
